Urban legends, gossips and from mouth to mouth always give us something to talk about in a city, especially if it is small like Cancun. Seeing is believing says the public and also the media unless they look to fill out the news of the week. Rumor has it that a dolphin lives in Nichupté Lagoon.
And what is a blunt proof? A photograph or video that will verify it. But never say never, because the day arrived, on January 18, 2018, was when the news came.
It is an extraordinary case because we know the dolphin moves in a pack, besides it is not the habitat in which it runs. According to the newspaper “Novedades,” the dolphin may like the environment of the Lagoon because of the food it finds.
As well as tourists, this friendly dolphin comes to take an express ride through Cancun.
Jaime González Cano, director of the Protected Natural Area, detected that it is not easy to identify it because it doesn’t go to the Laguna every day.
Thanks to social networks, such as Twitter is an excellent tool to share content and make the information reach both the media and citizens in an exaggeratedly fast way. In this social network exists images that verify the dolphin in Nichupté Lagoon.
So, if you are casually riding a catamaran and a cute dolphin looks out to greet, take a picture, upload it to social networks and most importantly take care of the environment. Let’s help Cancun to continue being home to many species that find a home or shelter in it.
